Aldo Balding
Aldo Balding was born and raised in the United Kingdom and currently lives in the South of France. He started off his career as an illustrator before making the move to France to become a full-time artist. Aldo studied at the Southampton College Faculty of Design. After leaving with a diploma in illustration he worked for the next fifteen years or so as a freelance illustrator and portrait painter producing illustrations for Punch, the Sunday Times and an array of advertising agencies. Portrait commissions included the Miss Pears winner in 1996 and his work was selected for the BP Awards at the National Portrait Gallery and shown at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Recent portraits have included golfers Ernie Els and Paul Casey, golf commentator Peter Alliss and one of his most challenging subjects to date – MND sufferer Sarah Ezekiel, ‘an amazing woman dealing with a debilitating illness’ There is a narrative element to Aldo’s work in which he sets up scenarios, with no specific outcome, leaving it up to the viewer to determine what is going on. He believes that the way a person holds their body can say more about their feelings and intentions, than words.…
Emma Rose
Emma is an award winning contemporary artist based near Bath in South West England. Emma specialising in semi abstract and impressionist painting with an emphasis on colour and texture. Using Indian inks and acrylics she produces vibrant and arresting work in a distinctive, captivating and unique style. Landscape, sky, sea nature and memory are the inspirational core often reflecting her interest in the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi Sabi. This is the process and beauty of ageing which creates irregularity and imperfection. Emma worked for many years in London, a career spanning theatre, film, dance and photography before leaving for the country idyll of Wellow near Bath. It is from her studio in this rural tranquil that she currently works in the distinctive style bringing colour into her collectors homes.
Simon Atack - Contemporary
Simon Atack was born in 1957 into a successful musical family. However, from a young age Simon had set his sights on becoming a painter, drawing battleships and aircraft on any clean white surface he came across. After formal training at Wakefield College of Art where he studied design and illustration, and finding it difficult to get a job, Simon joined the RAF. Here his talents were quickly recognised, leading to many commissions throughout the RAF His service days over he began a career as a full-time professional artist. After two of his paintings were exhibited at the Paris Salon, his career took off . Better known for his military aircraft paintings, Simon is a talented artist who also enjoys painting a variety of other subjects
