Description
Painted to celebrate the arrival and display in the UK of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Avro Lancaster KB762 VR-A Mynarski Memorial or “Vera” as she was affectionately known during her visit. Paired with the RAF Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster PA474 “City Of Lincoln” the two Lancasters made an unforgettably spectacular series of display flights around the UK during September 2014.
The painting which was chosen as the official tour painting, portrays the most unique display of all when, on two occasions during the tour, ‘Three Lancasters’ could be seen displaying together! When both Lancasters appeared in the skies of East Kirkby and overflew the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre’s taxiing Lancaster NX611 “JUST JANE” and gave thousands of people the truly rare sight of three Lancasters operating simultaneously on the ground and in the air.
